This event features a talk on Mīr Anīs, a foundational figure in Urdu literature known for his eulogies. Hosted by Ali-Adeeb Abbas and Sadik Kassim at Harvard University, the session explores how Anīs's work challenges secular literary criticism through devotion. The discussion focuses on the emotional impact of his marsiyas and their place in Islamic literary traditions. It is designed for those interested in Urdu poetry, literature, and cultural history.
